Falkirk 0-0 Kilmarnock

It was a vital game for Falkirk today. Victory would have put them within very close touching distance of a top 6 place, with all the kudos and financial rewards associated with that.
They blew it in fine style, in a match for which the phrase ‘drab goal-less draw’ was invented. Both sides were very lucky to get nil.
Here are the highlights -
The top photo is of the half-time entertainment, provided in a totally non-sexist way by the luscious ‘News of the World Ace Scorers’ (fnaar, fnaar!!), while the bottom photo is of a rather lovely rainbow that brightened the gloom near the end of the match.
Falkirk were dire today but do I have to add that the referee, Wiliam Collum, had an absolute shocker?
I have been watching professional football regularly for well over 40 years. I sometimes have passed through entire seasons, nay several entire seasons, without seeing a ‘drop-ball’. Today, there were no fewer than 5 ‘drop-balls’. Almost all of these occurred in utterly baffling circumstances where neither the players nor the spectators had a fucking clue what the referee was up to.
The result was fury. Fury of a sort that I haven’t really seen all season. The referee undoubtedly required the police escort which he got off the pitch at the end.
Elsewhere I was pleased to note that Rangers horsed a piss-poor Sellick team. Wee Gordon will not long survive the wrath of the junglies.
